Helpful ideas for organizing your house
Many people today love the idea of minimalistic living - just about having enough things for their daily needs. Lesser things to manage, lesser things to clean and have a clutter-free home. That’s the whole idea. But now, the question is how to de-clutter home? Here are a few things to keep in mind.
First of all, you need to realise that decluttering an entire house can't be done in a day or two. If you try do so, you'll only find yourself completely exhausted at the end of the day. It has to be done in a step-by-step manner over a period of time. You can clear unwanted things from one room at a time or even one corner in a room at one go.
Keep four different bins/bags and sort out stuff, depending on what you're going to do with them. One for things to recycle/upcycle, another one for things that need repair, third one for trash and fourth one can be kept for things that you think can be donated.
Now, the next question is what to discard? There are couple of things you need to consider for this. Get rid of things you don't use 80 per cent of the time. When you go through things you haven't used for a while, see if they work. If you can fix them, put them in the bin for items that need to be repaired. Or else, it can go into the trash bin. Also, consider when you have last used a particular item. If you think you haven't used it for a long time and unlikely that you will use it often, then, you may part with it. If you think it's still in condition and someone else may find it useful, donate it.
